Close the Gap Day aims to reduce the disadvantage faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the areas of; life expectancy, child mortality, education, and employment outcomes.

Through our Aboriginal Employment Pathways Program we work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates to help close the gap in employment. This Close the Gap Day we would like to congratulate Gosford candidate James.

James has been a volunteer Fire Fighter with the NSW Rural Fire Service for over 26 years and is currently a Senior Deputy Captain for the Mangrove Mountain Rural Fire Brigade. James worked tirelessly over the Christmas and New Year period to help fight fires burning across the Central Coast.

James’ first priority is always the safety of his team and making sure that lives and property are protected. James is very passionate about the preservation of our land and ensuring that we have our beautiful National Parks for many years to come. Thank you James for all that you do!
