The aim of the sample program
Leaving school can be an uncertain time with lots of options moving into post school life. Job Centre Australia Choice & Control welcomes you to try out our School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES), Increased Social & Community Participation and Improved Daily Living sample program to further assist you with your options for when you leave school.
Sample program dates:
- Monday 14th Aug, 2017 – Employability Skills
- Monday 21st Aug, 2017 – Personal Development
- Monday 28th Aug, 2017 – Social Fun Day: Movies ($20)
- Monday 4th Sep, 2017 – Independent Living
- Monday 11th Sep, 2017 – Employability Skills & Budgeting
- Monday 18th Sep, 2017 – Workplace Health & Safety
Time: All workshops run from 10am to 2pm.
Location: Level 2, 161 London Circuit, Canberra ACT 2601
Participants: Please wear enclosed shoes, comfortable winter clothes & bring your lunch.
Social Fun Day: We will go to Dendy’s Theatre, please bring $20 for movie and drink.

What is SLES?
SLES focusses on supporting Year 12 school leavers who are eligible NDIS participants to gain the skills required to transition into employment. School leavers will benefit from a person-centered approach, enabling choice on a combination of individual, social and employment activities all geared around working towards an employment outcome for the individual.
What is Increased Social and Community Participation?
This support is your opportunity to develop new friendships, join us for group activities and social outings, build your confidence in a social setting and most of all – have fun!
What is Improved Daily Living?
This support is designed to assist you to gain the skills to live a more independent life and participate in your community with more confidence. Our sample program will provide you the opportunity to learn new skills whilst having fun and making new friends.
