Rebuilding our communities

JCAL supports #purchaseapost rebuild efforts after Snowy Mountains bushfires

Sydney, Australia – Thursday 23 January 2020.

Our regional communities have been dealt a double blow with the ongoing drought and recent devastating bushfires. The impact on our farmers, their families and livestock, and the flow onto their local economies and communities is unprecedented.

Job Centre Australia, a not for profit employment service that specialises in supporting people with disability and diversity, sought to support their local area by contributing to a local project that will start the rebuild of the snowy regional communities.

Australian Agribusiness, Delta Ag, has launched the #PurchaseAPost campaign, rallying support to deliver much needed assistance to help our farmers in the Adelong, Batlow, Talbingo and Tumbarumba areas, by rebuilding the fencing on properties affected by fires. They’ve assembled teams to install the fencing and partnered with Waratah, to supply the posts, wire and other fencing supplies.

“When our Wagga branch manager’s family farm was hit in the recent fires it was apparent that we needed to do something not just for him, but for the wider farming community. #PurchaseAPost was born and within 24hrs we rallied our senior management and put the campaign together. Within 48 hours we had sold 2,500 posts to commence rebuilding. We’re very grateful to have organisations like Job Centre Australia, jumping on board and supporting the campaign”– Delta Ag Communications Manager Dean Kinlyside.

Job Centre Australia is proud to support Delta and Waratah as they help to rebuild farming communities, by purchasing 400 posts.

“ We felt this was one way to support our local community affected by the fires, to get back on their feet”, Sarah Stratford, Job Centre Australia’s GM Operations. “These posts are manufactured in Australia and like JCAL, Delta Ag is an Australian owned company that is investing money back into the Australian economy. JCAL is proud to be supporting this initiative. Uniting in collaborative partnerships will help achieve the outcomes we need for our affected communities.

If you’d like to support #purchaseapost campaign, along with Job Centre Australia, you can do so by calling any of the 42 DELTA Ag Branches and purchase a post for $6.25.
