Vale Malcom Ellis

20th April, 2021

It is with great sadness we inform you of the passing of former Job Centre Australia Board Director, Malcolm Ellis, aged 83 years, in the early hours of Sunday morning April 18.

Holding the positions of Director, Treasurer & Chairperson, Malcolm’s service on the Board spanned an impressive 22 years, from 1995 to 2017. Notably, Malcolm was Chairperson when the 3 organisations merged in 2006 to form Job Centre Australia. He continued as a Director until 2017, until his retirement for medical reasons.

Our team will remember Malcolm for his sense of humour, his friendly smile, his love of family and the furry companion always by his side, Charlie, though mostly for his unwavering commitment to the advancement of opportunity for people with disability.

The Job Centre Australia Board and Senior Leadership Team would like to acknowledge Malcolm’s valuable contribution to and support of Job Centre Australia, and express our sincere condolences to his wife Jenni Ellis and family. We would also like to acknowledge Jenni’s support for Malcolm whilst he undertook his various roles on Job Centre Australia’s Board. Malcolm will be sorely missed, though very warmly remembered.
