Welcome to Job Centre Australia – Disability Employment Services

Job Centre Australia limited is a Specialist Disability Employment Services (DES), funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations (DEEWR). We specialise in the placement and support of persons with a disability.

Our Disability Employment Service aims to help our clients find and gain employment. We provide one-on-one onsite training and ongoing support to our clients so they keep the job. We have provided specialist employment services to people with barriers for over 20 years.

Our TTW program, funded by the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC), is designed to provide two years of training to school leavers with a disability. The aim of TTW is to prepare clients in training and work readiness.

Our youth2work program has been specifically designed to meet the needs of youth or school leavers with a disability.

Our Aboriginal Employment Pathways Program has been specifically designed to the needs of Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islanders.

Safe Wheelers: Safe Wheelers

Job Centre Australia staff took part in Wheels for a Day in Newcastle which allows teams to experience the accessibility issues that people with a spinal cord injury face within the community.

A great day was had by all with funds raised used to help aid people living with a spinal chord injury in the Hunter.

The Job Centre Australia team consisting of Tamara, Kylie, Terri and Matt took out the Safe Wheeler Award on the day.

Job Centre Australia were proud sponsors of the International Day of Persons with a Disability celebrations held at the State Library of Queensland.

The day saw a great line up of entertainment and events revelling dance, music, song, theatre and art. This year marked the 20th anniversary of the International Day of Persons with a Disability which is held on the 3rd of December.

Bobby, former Job Centre Australia client was chosen as this year’s face of the Don’t Dis my Ability campaign and was invited to the Ministerial Celebration at the Museum of Contemporary Art

Job Centre Australia held a very successful After Hours Business drinks in Wagga Wagga. Many of the local businesses were in attendance and a great night was had by all.
DES: Disability Employments Services Tender

Job Centre Australia is pleased to announce it has been successful in gaining business in the recent Disability Employment Services tender. New business has been awarded to JCAL in South Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Port Macquarie.

Chris Connor CEO states JCAL has been given the opportunity to extend reach when it comes to finding long term opportunities for people with a disability, we anticipate we can now assist over 1000 additional jobseekers find employment.

Nambour Sausage Sizzle: Nambour Sausage Sizzle

Nambour office held a Community Sausage Sizzle on Thursday the 21st of March. It was a huge success, so successful we ran out of snags, onions, sauce and bread!
